OUR STORY

Creative Journey began its adventure as a pattern design studio in 2010, when my husband Kevin and I, Jemma, established the new portfolio brand. At that time we were living and working in Shanghai, setting up an office employing Chinese designers and providing creative services to Chinese home fashion brands and manufacturers. Our life in the Far East was exhilarating, albeit challenging, to say the least! But we loved it, and it will always remain a special place.

Kevin and I already had many years of experience working at the sharp end of fashion, home textiles and wallpaper production selling original and historic antique designs extensively into the American, European, and Asian markets. We met in New York in 2006, only to discover we were both from Stockport, England!

As a design studio, our roots reach back to the 1950s, when Kevin’s father Tom Lewis, set up Tom Lewis Studios. Tom travelled the world selling artwork to international design buyers with a need for surface pattern inspiration. The Lewis family continued to supply some of the world’s biggest brands for over 60 years, and it was this shared passion for travelling and love of beautiful artwork that inspired Kevin and I to form our own business, Creative Journey.

We always had a long term desire to create our own products using artwork from Kevin’s vast archive and it was Spring 2021 when we launched our first wallpaper collection. It has taken shape organically but suffered a massive tragic blow when Kevin very sadly passed away suddenly in May 2022. I have taken a long bereavement break, but have now returned, firing on all cylinders with determination to continue developing our beautiful products and fly the flag for the Lewis family legacy.

One of the original shared visions for the direction of Creative Journey, was to work alongside like minded professionals, and create bespoke wallpaper patterns for architects, interior designers, and specifiers, utilising our back catalogue of designs that distinguishes us from all of our competitors.
